Q&A With Michelle

Q: What inspired your Fall 2011 collection?
A: The photos of Guy Bourdin were inspirational; rich in color, with a 1970s vibe.

Q: What colors will be hot this fall?
A: Jewel tones, such as emerald, sapphire, plum and ruby.

Q: What are you most looking forward to this fall?
A: Fall weekends in the city are a nice change from summer weekends at the beach. I love family brunches in the city followed by a visit to the MET or the Whitney.

Q: What is your fall luxury item worth the splurge?
A: My Milly Mongolian Fur Vest - I can wear it over dresses during the week, and with jeans on the weekend. It makes everything look glamorous!

Q: Any fun trips planned for fall?
A: Throughout fall, I will be traveling to Paris, London, Barcelona and Lake Como - all a mixture of business and pleasure. I am looking forward to visiting stores and meeting customers while spending time with my family.

Q: What's your fondest memory of fall?
A: For the past few years, without a doubt, Fashions Night Out. I see it as the kick-off to NYCs most exciting season. It really gets you in the spirit of fall shopping, and Madison Avenue comes alive for Fashion Week. But going back further, walks through Central Park stick out the most in my mind. Its so incredible to be able to live in New York City and still be able to watch the seasons change right outside your window.

Q: What would you serve for a fall dinner party?
A: Lots of vintage champagne for cocktail hour, followed by a dinner which I will definitely not cook. Do you know a good chef?

Q: Are you attending any glamorous events this fall?
A: Of course! I love to get dressed up! The Museum of the City of New York's annual fall party in mid October and Lenox Hill Neighborhood's fundraiser in late November are always highlights of the party season. We are actually hosting the pre-party for Lenox Hill at our store, so you must come!

Q: Are you dressing up for Halloween?
A: Yes! I haven't decided what I will dress up as.

Q: What will your children be?
A: Sophia wants to be a witch. William wants to be Thomas the Tank Engine.
